Hallgarth Manor Wedding | Demii & Liam
19th May 2018
This was my second wedding of the weekend and my first time shooting at Hallgarth Manor Hotel. After backing up my previous days images, re-charging batteries and sorting out kit, I was all ready for a new day. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I knew it was going to be a challenging day in the bright sunlight. I arrived about 10am to catch the lads and kids having a kick around in the beautiful gardens to the rear of the venue. I also met up with videographer Lauren from Unveil Films, who I highly recommend. By the time I got to the brides room for bridal preps, I had almost forgotten there was a Royal Wedding taking place at Windsor, but the girls had the TV on watching the event, which made for a relaxing atmosphere. I also managed to catch the groom and groomsmen getting ready before heading off to the ceremony at the adjacent St Laurence Church. As things were running slightly late, I decided to leave the official photographs until after the wedding breakfast, which worked out well as the position of the sun was now more favourable for photography. The day was complete for me after the cake cutting and first dance. Thank you to all the staff at Hallgarth Manor and of course Demii & Liam for letting me photograph your wedding, congratulations.
Old Barn South Causey Inn Wedding | Kate & Ross
18th May 2018
The wedding of Kate & Ross was my first wedding of the 2018 season, so where better to kick off this year with the fabulous Old Barn, South Causey Inn. This special venue can provide you with a traditional country wedding situated in the beautiful Beamish Valley. It has its own lake and transport is provided to and from the lake by the hotel staff. I have photographed here before in the Durham Suite, but today I had the pleasure of the Old Barn venue.
I started off the day at Kate's parents house for the bridal preps before the trip to South Causey. My assistant for the day was my daughter Holly (Holly's Cakes & Bakes), who also provided the cake for Kate & Ross. It was certainly a challenge photographing at the Old Barn due to no natural light, but with the help of Holly, successfully managed to get all the images required for the ceremony.
The whole day went smoothly with the formal images, followed by more intimate photographs around the lake. This is a great wedding venue and a fabulous day was had by all. Thanks to all the staff at the South Causey Inn for making the day run smoothly. Many congratulations to Kate & Ross on their wedding day.
